Trying to get jobs done can be a real nightmare! When you need a job doing, you’d expect the search for a suitable tradesman to be straightforward and stress-free, but it’s not. Your local Yellow Pages has hundreds of trade providers you can choose from - but where do you start and who can you trust? Finding a competent and trustworthy tradesman is stressful and wildly hit-and-miss.

Toolbox Buddy is your rapid response, hassle-free one-stop-shop for all types of property maintenance, repair and improvement needs. We’re multi-trade and do most things - Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry, Decorating - even putting right DIY mishaps!

Take a look around B&Q or Homebase - we can apply, install or fix just about everything you see in these stores. The same goes for MFI and IKEA. We do projects, like installing a new bathroom or kitchen, but we specialise in the smaller jobs you struggle to get anyone to do. We call these smaller jobs ’mini jobs‘ - jobs like fixing a leaking tap, putting up a mirror or even changing a light bulb. Left undone, these small jobs mount up and can drive you mad!

Why is it that getting things done can be so much of a problem? As consumers, we’re used to high levels of satisfaction when we buy cars and other goods - why are maintenance, repair and improvement services so lacking by comparison? At best, a service provider will do a good practical job but, by and large, with disappointing attention to customer service. At worst, people are ruthlessly exploited - as we all know from reports in the media.

When you want a job done, you want it done when YOU want it done. You want to be able to call on one company, not chase different ones depending on the trade you need. You want good workmanship, you want courtesy and care – someone that listens and doesn’t make you feel anxious or intimidated. You want value for money. With other trade providers, if and when you eventually get through to them on their mobile phones, it’s quite normal to be told ‘the job’s too small’, ‘it’s not my cup of tea’ or ‘I can’t come until next month’. In contrast, when you ring our Support Desk, you can book an appointment for most jobs within days - and sometimes on the same day. We stick to our schedule, so there’s no waiting around for a tradesman to turn up. Those hassles are a thing of the past for Toolbox Buddy customers.

We aim to cover 90% of the jobs that normally crop up - but the list is increasing. So, we don’t do everything - for example, gas appliance work that must be undertaken by a CORGI registered organisation - but we will always advise you when to go to a conventional speciality service provider.

Our Handymen go through a rigorous selection process - only one in fifty applicants makes the grade - but it’s not just the quality of our Handymen that sets us apart. Toolbox Buddy is a managed, fully insured service rather than just a fix-it business. Our computerised job scheduling cuts out needless administration and travelling time - this makes us very efficient. Our vehicles are comprehensively equipped with tools, parts and consumable materials. All our Handymen carry a PDA phone to download their job list, keep in contact with our Support Desk and advise you directly when they’re on their way! They arrive uniformed and carry a personal identity card for your added peace of mind.

After work starts, your Handyman will discuss exactly what needs doing. If you have a query or concern, you can call our Support Desk. We'll answer your query or resolve any concern directly with your Handyman on the spot. Your peace of mind is our paramount goal. Your Handyman will leave you with a Freepost feedback card to complete after each job and our Support Desk will also be in contact as part of our customer care and quality procedures.
